Back to School Already? Seriously? {Life}

I'm thinking about back to school shopping. I don't WANT to be thinking about it, but I can't help it as I'm being inundated with Back to School: Shop Now! ads. Seems like that's all the flyers and stores are full of these days. Heck, I started seeing ads and displays during the second week of July. Does anyone actually start their back to school shopping this early?

This time last year I still hadn't decided if G-Girl was going to Junior Kindergarten or not. I was studiously avoiding all references to Back to School sales, my fingers in my ears, "Nyahnaah, I can't hear you." So last year all of my school shopping was done the second week of September, and I didn't really give it much thought.

When I was a kid my mom waited until after the first day of school. Once we had the list of what we needed THEN we went shopping. This year G-Girl is heading into Senior Kindergarten, so not that much in the way of supplies to be bought. Regardless, I'm in no hurry to head out and start shopping. I don't know. I find it hard to want to plan it out this far ahead.

Am I missing out on all the great deals? What do you folks think? When do you start shopping for school?
