For those of you who are planning on attending Blissdom Canada, I've found an awesome deal!  (The Hilton is probably going to hate me for spreading the word about this one...)

This weeks WagJag deal is for the Toronto Hilton (Yep, the very same place where Blissdom Canada 2011 is being held).


The deal is $169 for a Junior Alcove Suite with "upgraded amenities" (bigger room, terry cloth bathrobes, Crabtree & Evelyn goodies).  Plus you get a $25 Eaton's Centre gift card, free wifi access, free full breakfast for two, a voucher for two cocktails in the bar, and late (3pm) check out.

Details:
The Junior Alcove Suite has a king sized bed. The deal is for two people. A cot is available for free, but there is a charge of $20 a piece for a third or fourth occupant.

You can buy up to a max of 3 nights at $169 a piece.  If you stay for multiple nights you only get ONE $25 Eatons voucher and two free cocktails total.

Parking is not included and costs $30 a night.

How this compares to the Blissdom rate:
The Blissdom rate is $189 and already includes free breakfast and free wifi. So this deal works out to $20 a night cheaper, plus late check out, a $25 Eaton's card and two free cocktails.

The black out dates listed do not include the dates for Blissdom Canada, and (as of right now) I took a look and there are Junior Suites available for the Blissdom dates.

The only down side is, you have to buy the $169x3 voucher now and pay up front.  Whereas, if you have reservations under the Blissdom rate you can cancel without penalty and don't have to pay until you stay.

Also for those who are bunking 4 to a room and splitting, the $189 deal for two double beds may still be the better way to go.

I have been looking at this since Monday, reading all the details, staring at pictures of the Junior Suite and generally trying to decide if I can afford to spend the money up front.  I'm still debating as to whether it is worth the savings to be putting this on my credit card now.

Regardless, I thought I'd share the info with you folks in case some of you care to take advantage.

Heads' up.  The fabulous Shannon from Shasher's life sent me a tweet saying she called the Hilton and this deal is not usable for Blissdom.

I'm feeling a little grumpy about this. The Hilton's reservation website is still showing vacancies for Jr. Suites.  Personally, I think if they have the room available, then the voucher should be usable.   If they didn't want the deal to apply to Blissdom then it should have been included in the black out dates. 

I want to call there and see exactly what they say, but my kids are insane today.  There is no way I can hold a coherent phone call right now.  I am hoping they will both nap at the same time this afternoon and then I can look into it further.  I just wanted to post something right away, because I would feel badly if someone bought this for Blissdom on my recommendation, and then couldn't use it.

If any of you get any further details or info on this please let me know.

EDIT:
Hilton chose to end the deal three days early, so it's no longer available.  I didn't end up with any vouchers (this is what I get for procrastinating).  I'd love to know if any of you Blissdom bound ladies did grab the deal, and if so --is Hilton letting you use it for the conference dates?
