Yesterday in the mail I received this lovely pile of Scotch brand goodies.

Now when I think Scotch brand I instantly think "Tape", in fact much like Q-Tip for all cotton swab, in my house we tend to say the brand name "Scotch Tape" meaning any gift wrap tape. There really is no comparison. Whenever we cheap out and buy a different brand I'm always disappointed.

My gift pack did indeed include tape, lots of tape, including their lovely satin finish gift wrapping tape, and of course the classic Scotch "Magic Tape". It also included a roll of double sided tape, which is something I didn't even know they made. (It's pretty nifty. Perfect for tacking gift tags onto your packages, and for getting photos to stay in place in your photo album... among about a zillion other uses!)

But what I really need to talk to you about is the scissors! I had no clue Scotch made scissors. (Yes, I've been living under a rock.) I need to tell you about these scissors cause I'm in love. These scissors are AWESOME. "Precision Ultra Edge Scissors" with non-stick Titanium-fused blades. They are super comfy. They snip open and closed so smoothly. They cut like a dream. They work on both paper and fabric. The packaging says they stay sharp beyond 100,000 cuts. They are even sort of pretty. The blades have this burnished brass look to them that I find entrancing. I am so in love with these scissors. Like in a where have you been all my life sort of way. I had no clue just how lousy my old scissors were until I held these beauties in my hand. I have hidden them away from the rest of the family. Nominally to keep them out of reach of little hands, but really because I don't intend to share. These are now My Scissors. Mine

I am a complete gift-wrapping klutz which means my husband ends up doing most of the wrapping (though I am stuck wrapping his presents. Sigh) . When he saw the pile of Scotch brand stuff sitting on the table (minus the scissors as I'd already spirited those away to a <ahem> safe place) the wearable tape dispenser immediately caught his eye, and he sort of geeked out over it. It is a pretty nifty gadget. Tape close at hand, in pre-cut lengths that are just right for gift wrapping... what's not to love? I tried it on and it's surprisingly comfy. I like that you have the choice of wearing it over your hand or around your wrist. Hm. I guess if he lets me play with the dispenser, I might just let him use the scissors... for a few minutes... as long as he's wrapping those presents.
